WOW!! What a fantastic time we had on our hunt at Buffalo Butte. The 6 of us have been hunting together for about 25 years now and I decide I would take everyone to Buffalo Butte. Another buddy in the group, Scott, picked up the airfare for everyone. We had a great time from the minute we arrived, the food was absolutely outstanding, and the Springer family really have it all down to a science. Accomodations were spectacular! The lodge is beautiful and very comfortable. The hunting was far superior to anything I have experienced in the past. We are all planning on returning next year for sure. Thank you again to the Springer's for such a wonderful experience.

I just returned from a 2 day/3 night stay at Buffalo Butte Ranch. The experience is one that my two sons and I will treasure for many years to come. Marshall and Colleen are excellent hosts and go out of their way to make sure our time there was enjoyable. Marshall was our guide the two days we hunted and we could not have asked for a better time. We killed the limit and had a great time watching the dogs do their thing. It was a 5 star experience, in my opinion! We are going back next year!

Buffalo Butte Ranch accommodations and food are exceptionally good and the hunting was great. The birds were plentiful and the guides and dogs terrific. BUT the best part was the Springer family, Marshall, Colleen, Dillon and Rachel went out of their way to make us feel at home and like part of their family! Our guides, Sam and Brian (2019) and Dillon and Brandon (2020) did a great job to make our hunt safe, fun and successful.

We have been coming out to Buffalo Butte since 2013. I can say each year is better than the year prior - that is amazing considering it has been great every year! We bring a group of 14-16 and there is nothing better than the Buffalo Butte experience. Marshall, Colleen, Dillon, Rachel and staff provide a great experience and have become our friends in the process. We will keep coming back and already looking forward to our next trip! I've been bringing several customers and friends out to Buffalo Butte almost every year since 2013. The first hunt blew us away - beautiful land, warm and gracious hosts, great guides and dogs, we simply could not have asked for a better time. each time we return we feel like family, get fed way too much food (just like family) and have a memory making hunt. For the customers we bring the hunt is a hunt of a lifetime, many end up booking trips with their friends and family too. we plan on many returns and I've got my kids and wife ready to book a family hunt in the coming year or two.

Wow!, what a great experience. The entire Springer family treats you like one of their own. The food and amenities are outstanding. My son and I had a great time hunting prairie dogs for 2 days, can't wait to get back next year. Bring your guns and ammo, they take care of everything else.

Our group of 5 had a fantastic experience last week hunting Prairie Dogs outfitted by Buffalo Butte Ranch. The accommodations were first class, the food was home cooked and delicious and the family that runs the place were friendly and extremely hospitable. You might find a less expensive outfitter for hunting, but you won't find one that is nearly as good. We used 3 of their 9 shooting ranges to sight in on day 1, they dropped us off leaving us with their vehicle and packed lunches for the day plus a solid shooting stand for each of us and they even have a gun cleaning room to clean up your weapons at the end of the day. This probably sounds more like a commercial than a testimonial, but Buffalo Butte Ranch was a great experience for our group of 5.

summer 2104 - Chanhassen MN

Me and my 12yr old son just spent 4 days at the Ranch and had an amazing time. The facility is a 10+ as is the staff and service. They went out of their way to make our stay something to remember. There were so many things to do - we shot clays at the trap range, practiced with our rifles on the 100 - 300yd range, shot at the long distance range, and Marshall "the owner" even took the time to set up the pistol range for me to practice some multi target shooting. The prairie dog shooting was excellent and you can shoot up close or from over 1,000 yards. Oh and I can't forget to mention the food. I won't be eating that good until I go back for another trip. I had been on a pheasant hunt in the area and had a great time, so when my Dad had returned from a hunt last year and raved about how much nicer and professional the experience at Buffalo Butte was, I found it hard to believe. I just returned from a hunt at Buffalo Butte. I was accompanied by my dad and several customers and I understand now, what he was trying to explain. The Springer's and their staff go above and beyond to make every moment of your time in South Dakota the best it could possibly be. The birds are plentiful, the land, and the scenery are 1st rate. The lodge and the food are a step above. The entire operation is a mixture of the right place, the right people, with attentive, hardworking, and friendly attitudes. Our customers had a great time and I would like the Springer's and their staff to know how impressed that I am with the experience they create for their guests. We arrived home safely to the white Rocky Mountains. It rained most of the way home and snowed in the high country. I guess it really is fall. We all had a wonderful time and felt right at home with both of you and all of your crew. The food was wonderful as was the hunting and hospitality. I hadn't Pheasant hunted for over 6 years and mainly because I'd grown up in south central Minnesota and did most of hunting locally. A good day of bird hunting was 6-8 hours and maybe 2-3 birds total for a group of 3-4 hunters and a dog. After years of getting skunked and spending hours of time watching nothing fly I had completely lost interest in pheasant hunting. I was given the opportunity to go pheasant hunting at the Buffalo Butte Ranch from Ryan Trask and wasn't quite sure what I had signed up for. I had hunted in Iowa and had good luck but I had never hunted in South Dakota. To say the least I was skeptical of how many birds they said I would get a chance to shoot at. After 3 days of hunting at Buffalo Butte Ranch I think I saw and shot at more birds then in my previous 10 years of hunting! It was truly amazing and I felt completely rejuvenated again for a sport I fell in love with as a kid. It took weeks to take the smile off my face from that trip. On top of the hunting is the outstanding accommodations and service the Buffalo Butte staff provide. Colleen's home cooked meals I'm missing already. I'm hooked again on pheasant hunting. Thanks for everything!
